Educational Therapy
Educational Therapy is the process whereby a trained educator works with children who have thinking and learning differences. Not to be confused with regular tuition services, our Educational Therapists (ETs) search for the root causes of a child’s difficulties in order to help them strive. For example, instead of simply drilling through endless maths problems, an ET would recognise that a child may be struggling with number sense, and therefore, teach them strategies to recognise basic number facts and provide support recommendations to parents and teachers accordingly. Some signs that your child may benefit from educational therapy include:
- Difficulties with reading, spelling, writing, and numeracy
- Challenges with memory and learning ability
- Reduced ability to think critically in both social and theoretical situations
- Poor executive functioning skills
- Transitions into a mainstream school placement

Through educational therapy, we help to build a child’s academic skills through introducing specific, individualised strategies to help them manage their thinking differences, most commonly in areas of literacy and numeracy. This often includes:
- Identifying behavioural issues that may stem from underlying learning differences
- Teaching strategies to improve attention and learning habits
- Addressing organisation and time management skills
- Providing support to parents and other stakeholders with educational planning
Our team has extensive experience working with children with a range of diagnoses such as:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Specific Learning Disorders (e.g. Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia)
- Genetic disorders and syndromes (e.g. Down’s Syndrome)
- Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
- Intellectual Disability (ID)
