Early Intervention Programme
Early Intervention at Ohana Therapy is deeply rooted in the principles of the Individualised Family Service Plan (IFSP) model, a collaborative framework designed to support children with developmental delays or disabilities, and their families.Central to our approach is parent education, which we believe is essential for empowering families to become their child’s strongest advocates. We recognise that parents are the experts on their child, and by providing them with the knowledge and skills they need, we enable them to play an active role in their child’s developmental journey.
Our programme looks not only to work closely with families to develop personalised IFSPs, but also provide ongoing support and guidance to help them understand their child’s strengths, challenges, and goals. We offer workshops, resources, and one-on-one sessions designed to enhance parents’ understanding of evidence-based practices and effective intervention strategies. By equipping parents with this knowledge, we hope to enable them to advocate effectively for their child’s needs, whether it’s navigating the healthcare system, accessing services, or collaborating with other professionals. Our goal is to empower parents to confidently support their child both within our programme and beyond.
Through the combination of the IFSP model, evidence-based practices, and parent education, we foster a collaborative partnership between families and our team. Together, we work towards the shared goal of helping each child reach their full potential and thrive within their family and community.
