Speech & Language Therapy Team
Wanda Wijaya
Hi everyone, I’m Wanda! I’m a Speech-Language Therapist from Jakarta (Indonesia), who now calls Singapore home. In the past few decades, I’ve had the opportunity to study and work in Australia, UK, and Singapore. Even with all the moving around, one thing has remained constant: my deep passion for working with children, and I feel incredibly lucky to be doing what I love every day.
Growing up with a preschool principal for a mum, I learned early on the power of early intervention and the importance of working hand-in-hand with parents to help children thrive. That belief continues to shape my approach today: I focus on play-based, strengths-driven, neurodiversity-affirming therapy tailored to each child’s unique needs. I love involving caregivers in sessions, and I truly believe that parents and caregivers are the most powerful agents of change in a child’s life.
As a mum myself, I understand the emotional rollercoaster that comes with raising little ones: the joy, the worry, the questions, the hopes. That lived experience has made me even more empathetic and grounded in my work. I know what it’s like to want the best for your child while feeling unsure of what that looks like, and I want every family I support to feel seen, heard, and held.
In my clinical work, I specialise in speech sound disorders (including childhood apraxia of speech), language delays and disorders (including gestalt language processing), and working with children with hearing impairments. I’ve also had the privilege of walking alongside families navigating diagnoses of autism, ADHD, global developmental delay, stuttering, selective mutism, and feeding challenges like fussy eating.
In addition to working with little ones, I also support adults looking to strengthen their communication skills. I currently work with clients experiencing cognitive-communication difficulties, fluency disorders, or language rehabilitation needs. I also love supporting individuals who simply want to build their confidence in public speaking or day-to-day conversations. I’m fluent in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, and happy to conduct therapy in either language.
Supporting my clients to communicate with confidence has helped me grow, not just as a therapist, but as a person. It has taught me to practise ethically, serve empathetically, and support others with intention and heart. I’m deeply humbled by the families who let me into their worlds, and I don’t take that privilege lightly. They say it takes a village to raise a child – let me be a part of yours!
