Counsellors

Jungmin Sarah Park

Hello, I’m Sarah! I’m a counsellor based in Singapore. My journey in counselling began almost 15 years ago when there were unexpected turn of events that happened in my life. These turn of events made me neglect my needs and it soon affected my role as a mom as well as a wife. One day someone asked if I would like to see a counsellor who she knew. That was my first counselling as a client and the beginning of looking at my own self and needs as a person. The counselling sessions helped me in looking at my grief, burnout, anxiety and relational issues. This experience led me to believe in the power of counselling and here I am now wanting to help more parents and children who are searching for a counsellor who can relate to them.

I am trained in a CBT, ACT, humanistic and existential approaches. I believe forming a relationship with empathy and understanding is key to change and therefore my approach is client centred. I have worked with clients with ADHD, anxiety, depression, anger issues as well as clients struggling with relationship issues.

I was raised in both the UK and South Korea, which gave me a deep appreciation for different cultures and perspectives from a young age. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in the corporate world as a hedge fund portfolio analyst. That experience gave me first-hand insight into the pressures and fast pace of demanding professional environments — as well as the stress and opportunities they bring.

I’m passionate about connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and have a particular interest in supporting third culture kids. Having lived in Singapore for almost 7 years and being a mother of two kids, I bring both professional understanding and personal empathy to my work with clients.
